Denver, Colo. – Nathan MacKinnon, in his 856th career NHL game, has recorded his 1,000th NHL point.

MacKinnon is the 100th player in NHL History to reach the milestone. The Cole Harbour native is also the 23rd player to do it in 856 games or less.

Per Elliotte Friedman, MacKinnon is also the first player from the 2013 draft class to hit this milestone. The next closest player is Aleksander Barkov, who is currently at 771 career NHL points.

In the form of a secondary assist, MacKinnon earned the point on a deflected goal courtesy of Artturi Lehkonen. Devon Toews has the primary assist.
