He tweeted on Thursday night that he is “100% locked in” to the Tide, accompanied by a graphic indicating that his recruitment is now closed. Griffin will be a member of the Crimson Tide once he officially signs his national letter of intent.
This is massive news for Alabama, as Griffin is one of the top recruits in the nation. He is the top linebacker recruit in the country and the eighth-best overall recruit, per 247Sports.

Griffin is one of four five-star recruits in Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class and is the highest-ranked recruit in the class. Getting him to close his recruitment is huge since he can potentially help the program recruit other top players who haven’t committed to a school yet.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer has been on a major recruiting heater over the last several weeks and wants to keep riding that momentum into August, as the 2025 season is just over a month away.
The Crimson Tide will start the 2025 season on the road in a non-conference clash against the Florida State Seminoles on August 30. That will be the first of three non-conference games before the Tide start SEC play against the Georgia Bulldogs on September 27.
