On Sunday, the NCAA Division I women’s basketball selection committee revealed the top 16 seeds for the 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament if the season ended right now. With a month to go until Selection Sunday, it was a great opportunity for teams to see where they currently sit heading into the stretch run. USC came in as the No. 5 overall team in the committee’s rankings. The Trojans would be the top No. 2 seed, with Notre Dame beating them out for the final No. 1 seed largely due to the Irish’s win at Galen Center back in November.
As it stands, USC and Notre Dame would be matched up in the same region of the bracket. Hence, the Trojans would potentially get another shot at one of two teams to defeat them this season.
The Women of Troy still have a matchup against No. 3 UCLA next week, however, as well as the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis. If USC wins the conference, the Trojans should climb up to the one-seed line—just as they did by winning the Pac-12 Tournament last year.
First, however, the Trojans will play their final two regular season home games this week. USC welcomes No. 22 Michigan State to Galen Center Wednesday night and No. 3 Illinois Sunday afternoon on senior day.
