To get to the Final Four, the No. 1 seed Longhorns beat No. 16 William & Mary and No. 8 Illinois in the first two rounds before beating Tennessee 67-59 in the Sweet 16 and TCU 58-47 in the Elite Eight.

Games from the Sweet 16/Elite Eight weekend featured some historic firsts.
UCLA women’s basketball advanced to the Final Four for the first time in program history. TCU’s Hailey Van Lith is the first basketball player, man or woman, to take three different teams to the Elite Eight after leading the Horned Frogs past Notre Dame in the Sweet 16.

Some highlights from the previous rounds include No. 4 Maryland advancing to the Sweet 16 after a double-overtime 111-108 win over the No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide, who, at one point, had a 17-point lead. Illinois beat No. 9 Creighton 66-57 with just six players before falling to Texas in the second round.
But the biggest story of the tournament may be USC’s sophomore phenom JuJu Watkins’ early exit from the NCAA Tournament after tearing her ACL against Mississippi State in the second round. Although the Trojans were able to get past Kansas State in the Sweet 16 without her, they fell to UConn in the following round.
