Nebraska men’s basketball and head coach Fred Hoiberg announced the nonconference slate to open up the 2026-2027 season. The lineup includes matchups against three Big East opponents, a couple of Big 12 teams and a neighboring SEC foe.
The season starts with three exhibition games against St. Louis, BYU and Kansas State in October. The Huskers host the Billikens on Oct. 9, face the Cougars in Provo, Utah at the Marriott Center on Oct. 16 and battle the Wildcats in Grand Island, Nebraska at the BigIron Events Center on Oct. 26.

The regular season officially begins for Nebraska against Le Moyne on Nov. 2, in the first matchup between the two schools on the basketball court. The Huskers will also host Lindenwood on Nov. 11, South Dakota on Nov. 18 and Southern on Nov. 25.
Nebraska also faces Providence, Boise State and Butler in neutral-site games in November. The Huskers start by taking on the Friars in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off on Nov. 7 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Nebraska then battles Boise State at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Nov. 15 before traveling to Chicago, Illinois, for a matchup with Butler at the Credit Union 1 Arena on Nov. 22.
The Huskers begin December in Omaha for their annual in-state showdown with Creighton on Dec. 5. Nebraska then heads down to Kansas City in a Big Ten/SEC clash with Missouri. The Huskers wrap up their nonconference run with a three-game home stretch against Mount St. Mary’s on Dec. 17, Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 20 and New Haven on Dec. 30.
The start times and broadcast information for all games will be announced at a later date.
