The No. 23 Nebraska Cornhuskers dealt with a big Saturday surprise when it welcomed Southeastern Louisiana of the Southland Conference. The Lions didn’t let Nebraska’s rank phase them, battling the Huskers throughout the day. But Nebraska held off Southeastern Louisiana to take the 78-68 win.

The Lions attacked the paint, scoring 40 points, and took advantage of Nebraska’s 15 turnovers, scoring 23 points off them. The team finished with a shooting percentage of .509, which kept them in the fight.

But the Huskers shot for a .520 percentage and landed 14-of-29 baskets from beyond the arc. The Lions only managed five, allowing for Nebraska to get the edge. The Huskers also outscored Southeastern Louisiana 24-11 in the fourth, which included an 8-0 run in the final two minutes of the game.

Natalie Potts put together another accurate outing for Nebraska, scoring 17 points and going 6-of-9 from the field and 4-for-5 in three-point shooting. She also led the team in rebounds with seven.

Florida transfer Alberte Rimdal also delivered a strong performance, dropping 14 points after finishing 5-of-8 from the field and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. Logan Nissley scored 14 points as well, landing four baskets from three-point range.

Petra Bozan rounded out Nebraska’s double-digit scorers on the day. The freshman delivered a near-perfect game, going 4-for-4 from the field, 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, and 1-for-2 from the free throw line to finish with 11 points.

Nebraska is now 2-0 on the season and will remain home to face Southern University on Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on B1G+.
