In the eyes of Huskers fans anyway, the fans of Notre Dame were deemed as this year’s leader for loudly defending the Fighting Irish’s right to run from the fight when they didn’t get their college football way for, well, about the first time ever.

It didn’t matter that they were least deserving of the fringe teams, they are Notre Dame, dammit! And take to social media they did, angry and often, as they attempted to pluck odd game comparisons, anything to ignore the big picture, to show how they had been wronged in legendary ways for which all would pay as they proved their dominance with examples of a slew of hypothetical victories in the 2025-6 CFP, had they been allowed in.
While they saw opting out of a bowl game as a noble protest, Husker fans, and the overwhelming majority of those outside of South Bend saw this:
Their opponent in this poll was the Texas Tech Red Raiders fandom, after Tech and Brendan Sorsby attempted to circumvent his NCAA ban for gambling on games in which his own team participated through 1) him entering rehab after he was busted, 2) the courts, and 3) blowhard threats from Big Daddy Big Bucks booster Cody Campbell and Texas AG Ken Paxton – in that order.

And much like they ran away after the Big 12 and NCAA called their bluff, Texas Tech took the “L” in this poll as well. Tech fans couldn’t even be the best at being weird and unhinged.
So here’s the results – and congrats, Domer fans!

I honestly thought Huskerland’s Notre Dame fans might stand a little taller for the green and gold, but at the end of the day, throwing a tantrum and quitting garners you little respect outside the confines of the South Bend campus.

But don’t worry, Rudy is probably streaming somewhere. Give it a watch – the movie’s a banger and one of the finest screen works of sports fiction ever.
