The most-purchased boxing match of all time is being run back as more than 11 years since Floyd Mayweather defeated Manny Pacquiao in their first encounter, the world will see them square off once again.

Streaming giant Netflix announced Monday that Mayweather and Pacquiao will square off in a professional rematch that headlines a Sept. 19 event at Sphere in Las Vegas. The announcement did not include key details such as number of rounds or the weight class in which the fight will be contested.

Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision in their 2015 “Fight of the Century” that drew 4.6 million pay-per-view buys.

Mayweather, 48, reportedly agreed to fight Mike Tyson in an exhibition bout in April and announced he’d return to professional competition thereafter. Sitting with a perfect 50-0 record, Mayweather has not competed as a pro since a July 2017 win over Conor McGregor. He’s fought in various exhibition fights since, however, against the likes of Logan Paul, John Gotti III and others.

Pacquiao, 47, holds a 62-8-3 record and has been a bit more active in recent years. He’s 1-1-1 in his past three professional boxing bouts. The most recent was a majority draw vs. Mario Barrios in July 2025. He’s also competed in custom rules bouts in Japan.
