Gabby Stare reached another milestone in her illustrious career for the Ohio Dominican women’s basketball team.
The Newark graduate surpassed 2,000 career points during Thursday’s 84-56 victory against Cedarville. Stare, a fifth-year senior, became the second women’s or men’s player in school history to reach the mark as she previously became the women’s program’s all-time scoring leader earlier this season.
Stare recorded 19 points, five rebounds and three assists in the victory. She is averaging a team-best 15.1 points per game, shooting 48% from the field and 83% from the line.
Newark graduate Jenna Shackleford is averaging 8.2 points per game for the Panthers, who improved to 8-10 overall and 3-7 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
