The Indiana Fever made an impactful free agent signing a few weeks ago when they landed Myisha Hines-Allen.
Hines-Allen, a longtime member of the Washington Mystics who spent last season with the Dallas Wings, brings some much-needed front-court depth to a Fever team looking to win a WNBA Championship this season. A well-respected veteran who brings a ton of experience and valuable skills to the table, Hines-Allen was a hot commodity in free agency. She could have chosen to go anywhere.

She chose to go to Indiana and revelaed her reasoning at the Fever’s media day on Wednesday. The opportunity to play alongside Caitlin Clark was too good to pass up.
“Being able to play with Caitlin Clark, I think that was a huge eye-opener,” Hines-Allen told the media. “I had the opportunity to play with one of the greatest players that’s ever gonna play the game of basketball.”
Hawkeye fans are very familiar with Clark’s greatness on the basketball court, so it was nice to see other members of the basketball community acknowledge what she means to the game. Clark’s ability to sway other big names to join her in Indiana will help the Fever stay competitive for as long as she’s in Indianapolis.
Clark, Hines-Allen, and the rest of the Fever squad kick off preseason action this Saturday with a matchup against the New York Liberty at 2 p.m. CST. The regular season starts on May 9 with a home game against the Dallas Wings at noon CST.
