No. 8 TCU ends UTEP Miners women’s basketball’s unbeaten run

The UTEP women’s basketball team’s perfect start to the season ended in a likely place, at a top 10 team.

No. 8 TCU took the lead 20 seconds into the game and never trailed, pulling away early for a 95-40 victory Saturday, Dec. 6, in Fort Worth.

The Miners were within 12-9 early, but TCU went on a 12-2 run, won the second quarter 22-7 to take a 43-18 lead to intermission and kept its foot on the gas the whole way.

UTEP fell to 7-1 while TCU improved to 10-0.

Sirviva Legions and Ndack Mbengue led the Miners with 10 points and no one else had more than four. The Miners shot 24% from the field and were 1-of-17 on 3-pointers.

TCU won fast break points 38-9.
