Monday was a big day in the Campbell household as Dan celebrated his 50th birthday.
To appease the fans who love behind-the-scenes photos of the Detroit Lions’ head coach, his wife Holly released a mashup of some fun pictures and videos to celebrate the big 5-0.
To celebrate, I looked around for a fun, random story or fun fact about Campbell, and came across one that probably won’t surprise you.

In 2015, while Campbell was interim head coach for the Miami Dolphins, ESPN’s James Walker wrote on how much Campbell loves Metallica.
“’Ride the Lightning’ was a good one,” Campbell said in 2015, when asked what his favorite songs are. “’Master of Puppets.’ ‘One.’ ‘The Unforgiven.’ ‘Nothing Else Matters.’ Anyway, I could go on.”
In fact, Campbell earned the nickname “Dantallica” at Texas Tech for his fandom, and once waited in line overnight for tickets to see the heavy-metal band in Texas.
So to summarize, be sure to blare some Metallica in honor of the Detroit Lions’ head coach’s big day.
And onto the rest of your notes.
