The initial college football playoff rankings came out this week, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish were selected as the #10 team in the country by the CFP committee. Some people were a little surprised by the respect shown with the #10 ranking. Because Notre Dame has four games left, and the proximity #10 has to #8… the hopes for a playoff game inside Notre Dame Stadium were once again lifted up by fans.
All the Irish need to do is rise two spots in the ranking, and they will host a first round playoff game. Just two spots, and yet… most Notre Dame fans surveyed don’t think that to be the case. Only 39% believe the Irish get there.
If the 39% are to be proven wrong, it’s likely that Notre Dame will not only have to win their the final four games of the season — it will have to be done in impressive fashion.

The first step begins against the Navy Midshipmen and the massive point spread. While the spread has jumped up a couple of points over the week, only 44% of fans surveyed believed the Irish will cover the initial 25.5 points.
