It has been a banner season for Notre Dame women’s basketball guard Hannah Hidalgo, one that shouldn’t surprise anyone.

During her freshman season, Hidalgo was named as an All-American, setting herself up for a big sophomore campaign, which now has seen her being named the ACC Player of the Year on Tuesday night. The accolades didn’t end there for the Irish star, as she was also named as the Defensive Player of the Year in the ACC.

On the season, Hidalgo has averaged 24.2 points-per-game, while adding 5.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.7 steals. She showed her all-around game this season, and helped Notre Dame tied for the conference regular season title with North Carolina State.

While Hidalgo was the star for the Irish this year, it wasn’t just her getting honored by the conference. Olivia Miles and Sonia Citron made the first-team All-ACC, with Citron also placing on the ACC All-Defensive team. Laitu King received second-team All-ACC honors, while Kate Koval was named to the conferences All-Freshman team.

Next up for Notre Dame is the conference tournament, as they await who they will play on March 7th. Congratulations to all the Irish honorees, as they strive to prepare for a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
