Even though the Super Bowl is taking place Feb. 9, don’t tell that to Notre Dame women’s basketball fans. A few hours before the biggest football game of the year kicks off, the Irish will take on California in a battle of two ranked ACC programs. This will serve as the annual Think Pink Game, during which the Irish wear pink to spread breast cancer awareness.
Whatever the reason though, Irish fans want to watch their team on this particular afternoon. In fact, the Irish have announced that the game is sold out. There have been numerous sellouts already this season, and this is the latest sign that there are high hopes surrounding the program.
When the Irish played this game last year, Hannah Hidalgo dyed her hair pink for the occasion. While there’s no telling at this point whether history will repeat itself, it definitely will be interesting to see whether she does that again.
Purcell Pavilion has rocked a bunch already this season, and it’s about to happen again.
