“Looking forward to hopefully getting an opportunity to play this year, and hopefully, this is kinda just a starting point,” Beckham Jr. told FanDuel TV’s Kay Adams in an interview ahead of the event.
I thought the Giants did a really nice job of picking some spots where they could improve their roster — notably at tight end, linebacker, and on special teams — and not have to wildly overpay to do so. They also did a good job of not overpaying some of their own players who left to go play for former head coach Brian Daboll in Tennessee.
A lack of homegrown talent underscores the Giants’ draft-and-develop struggles.
Although Skattebo has walked back his comments, Brian Sutterer, a sports medicine doctor, said the damage has been done. Sutterer criticized Skattebo in a video he posted on his YouTube channel for downplaying the effects of asthma.
“What are we doing to make fun of the idea that somebody needs to use an inhaler to minimize their asthma exacerbation?” Sutterer said. “Asthma exacerbations can kill you. Asthma is even more of a real, provable, true thing than CTE.”
Sutterer added that he is worried anyone who is a fan of Skattebo could hear what he said and begin to bully people who use an inhaler when playing football. He also worries that players who do use them may decide to stop using them during practices and games, potentially getting seriously hurt because they do not want to be teased.
“I don’t know who this ‘Bring the Juice’ guy is, but to even throw out a question suggesting asthma is fake is not funny,” Sutterer said. “It’s not humorous. It might be funny if you’re 10 years old and don’t know anything about science. This is not funny. This is just uninformed.”
