Ohio State makes the final cut to land top top-rated edge rusher

by

The Ohio State football team currently has the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports. That’s pretty much par for the course when it comes to the Buckeyes, but one position group that seems to be lacking this year is that of defensive end. While Larry Johnson has landed some top talent from the transfer portal, Ohio State has missed on some big names in recent classes, and at this moment, the class has no commits who get after the quarterback.

That may all change in the near future. Four-star edge rusher Carter Meadows has narrowed his list to four teams, with the Buckeyes listed as a finalist. According to 247Sports composite rankings, Meadows is the No. 7-ranked defensive end in the country.

Joining Ohio State on the short list are two other Big Ten foes, Michigan and Penn State, as well as South Carolina from the SEC. The Buckeyes got in on the Washington, DC native late, only offering the young man a scholarship a few months ago in early March. It could be a good sign that OSU made such an impression in such a short period.
