Ohio State priority linebacker Cincere Johnson sets commitment date

by

It’s a pretty big month coming up for the Ohio State football team. With official visits set to begin this Friday, it’s time to roll out the red carpet in hopes of securing some commitments. One of those players the Buckeyes are looking to get a pledge from is Cleveland Glenville linebacker Cincere Johnson.

Johnson named his final three of Alabama, Penn State, and Ohio State in early May. Fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out Johnson’s final choice, as the young man has set a commitment date of June 19. Johnson made his official visit to Happy Valley on May 16. He’ll head to Tuscaloosa next on May 30 and round things out with a stop in Columbus on June 13. The Buckeyes have long been the favorite in this recruitment, but the Nittany Lions and Crimson Tide have more than enough pull to sway Johnson away from Ohio. It would be a massive loss for OSU as Glenville High School has been a pipeline for the Scarlet and Gray for years.

Ohio State is looking to add to a class that is already ranked No. 3 in the nation according to 247Sports. The Buckeyes are also eyeing the No. 1 and No. 2 linebackers in the country, Tyler Atkinson and Xavier Griffin, both Georgia natives. Should OSU pull in all three, it would be one of the greatest linebacker hauls in college football recruiting history. We find out if the first domino falls in favor of the Buckeyes on June 19.
