Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has been pretty direct this offseason when it comes to expressing the current state of college football. The rapidly evolving NIL era has forced programs to get with the times, or else.
Day knows that he’s extremely fortunate to work for a Power 5 school in a major conference during this “money talks” period of college football. But he recently shared an idea that might even out the playing field across the sport.

Appearing on the “This is Football” podcast, Day wondered aloud about an NFL-style draft that would be the primary mechanism of construction for college football rosters.
Day believes that college football finds itself in “purgatory”, and that the sport can go in a direction that mirrors itself like a professional league. The Ohio State head coach spoke about the need for a system that allows rules to be enforced, regardless of what form it takes.
