Oklahoma Sooners among top 3 for 2026 4-Star QB Bowe Bentley

by

The Oklahoma Sooners landed inside the top three for one of the fastest rising prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, quarterback Bowe Bentley. According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, Bentley’s top three includes the Oklahoma Sooners, Georgia Bulldogs, and LSU Tigers.

Bentley will make an official visit to Norman the weekend of June 13 through the 15th. According to Parker Thune of OUInsider, no other 2026 prospect has announced a visit for that weekend at this time. It appears the Sooners may be looking to put together the full court press to land Bentley.

The Oklahoma Sooners offered Bentley back on January 24. At the time, the Texas High School football standout had just a handful of Power Four offers. Since then, he’s become one of the hottest quarterback targets in the cycle, rising from the No. 296 overall player in the class back in the middle of November to No. 76 overall in March, according to 247Sports. He’s considered the No. 7 quarterback in the class by 247Sports and On3 has Bentley as the No. 5 quarterback in the class.

After Oklahoma offered, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Indiana, Ohio State, LSU, Georgia, and Colorado entered the recruitment.

Bentley is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who possesses the arm strength to push the ball down the field and the accuracy to win in the passing game at all depths. He has a quick release when he loads up to throw and delivers the ball on time. He has the size, strength, and speed to create yards after contact in the running game and run away from defenders. His ability to run the ball keeps teams off-balance as he works outside of the pocket.

He was incredible in his junior season, combining for more than 4,200 yards and 63 touchdowns in 2024. He helped lead Celina to a 16-0 record and the Texas Class 4A-Division I State Championship.

Though his visit is still a couple of months away, the Oklahoma Sooners have put themselves in a strong position to land one of the top prospects in the 2026 recruiting class.
