Oklahoma Sooners climb in AP Top 25 after win over Michigan

by

The Oklahoma Sooners earned a big win over the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday night with a 24-13 win. Oklahoma received a huge bump in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll.

With the win, the Oklahoma Sooners moved up five spots in the latest AP Poll released on Sunday. They’re just outside the top 10 heading into Week 3.

Ohio State and Penn State take the top two spots in the AP Top 25, which is where they sit in the Coaches Poll. LSU comes in at No. 3, Oregon at No. 4, and the Miami Hurricanes are the No. 5 team in the nation.

The Sooners will play seven more teams ranked inside the AP Poll over the course of the season. Their next ranked game comes against the Auburn Tigers in a couple of weeks. Auburn is currently ranked No. 25 in the nation after a 2-0 start to the season. Starting with that home game against the Tigers, seven of Oklahoma’s final eight games to end the season come against teams ranked in the AP Top 25 this week.

If Oklahoma finds its way into the playoff discussion, it will be earned. It’s a gauntlet, but the Sooners showed on Saturday night in the win against Michigan that they’re up to the task.

Here’s a look at the latest AP Top 25.
