On3’s Andy Staples released an updated look at the college football playoff bracketology following week one of play.
LSU, with the No. 2 seed, earned a first-round bye into the quarterfinals. The Tigers would face the winner of No. 7 Texas and No. 10 Notre Dame in Staples’ version of the bracket.

Following an upset win over No. 4 Clemson in week one, No. 9 LSU will see a shift in the AP rankings and its postseason outlook. Clemson is No. 11 in Staples’ bracket and faces No. 6 Oregon in the first round. The winner would face No. 3 Miami.
No. 1 Ohio State and No. 4 Penn State round out the byes into the quarterfinals. No. 5 Georgia rounds out a group of three SEC teams in the field. Auburn and Florida are in the first four out.
The rest of LSU’s schedule includes six teams ranked in the AP’s preseason poll. The Tigers host the Gators in week three, then travel to Ole Miss in week five.
