Oregon Basketball not included in On3’s way-too-early Top 25 poll

Having one of the best point guards in the Big Ten and most likely one of the best centers in the country doesn’t get you much these days.

In the way-too-early Top 25 men’s basketball poll, On3 didn’t include the Oregon Ducks among those ranked. Now, the Ducks did lose some key players from last year’s team, and perhaps the uncertainty of Nate Bittle coming back played a part, but most think Oregon will be one of the top teams in the conference in 2025-26 once again.

That uncertainty about Bittle should have been greatly lessened since he wasn’t invited to the NBA combine later this month, and Oregon definitely brings back point guard Jackson Shelstad, so being left off the Top 25 is a bit of a mystery.

Dana Altman has attempted to reload the roster with the transfer additions of TK Simpkins, Miles Goodman, and Devon Pryor. The Ducks also bring back forward Kwame Evans Jr., who is set to have a major breakout season next year.
