It may have seemed as if Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks were done building their roster in the transfer portal for the time being, but it should never come as a surprise when another move is made.
That move came on Monday in the form of former Ole Miss safety Jadon Canady announcing that he would be transferring to Oregon for the 2025 season, his final year of eligibility
Canady played primarily in the STAR/nickel position with the Rebels in 2024, with 38 tackles, including 21 solo, and 11 passes defended. He was named to the All-SEC second team by the College Football Network. Canady is the 10th player that Oregon has landed out of the portal this year, and the second safety, joining former Purdue safety Dillon Thieneman.
Canady initially began his career at Tulane where he played 19 games before transferring to Ole Miss. He played in seven games in 2022 for the Green Wave, where he had 20 tackles and also returned a fumble for a touchdown against Houston. He finished fourth on the team in total tackles with 55 in 2021 as a true freshman with two interceptions.
