The Oregon Ducks have been busy on the recruiting trail, hoping to make the upcoming seasons as magical as this past season. Some weren’t sure how the Ducks would fare their first year in the Big Ten, but it was clear early on the Ducks weren’t phased.

They finished the regular season with an undefeated record and defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Big Ten Championship game. The College Football Playoff committee awarded them the No. 1 overall seed and a first-round bye.

The long layoff proved to do more harm than good, as the Ohio State Buckeyes went into Pasadena having defeated the Tennessee Volunteers in the first round. The Buckeyes proved to be too much this time around, as the Ducks fell in the rematch.
The Ducks’ success continued into the NFL Draft, where they saw a program-record 10 players selected, surpassing the previous record of eight set the year before.

That bodes well for Ducks head coach Dan Lanning on the recruiting trail. Not only are you, as a recruit, likely to be on a winning team in Eugene, but there’s also a good chance they turn pro.
In a recent piece by national recruiting website On3’s Steve Wiltfong, he predicts that the Ducks will land safety Devin Jackson, who had previously committed to the Florida Gators before decommitting in April.
Jackson is a 6-foot-2, 195 lb safety from The First Academy in Orlando, Florida. According to Max Torres of On3.com, Jackson is ranked No. 133 in the On300 rankings, the No. 14 safety and No. 19 ranked player in the state of Florida.
On Saturday, Jackson announced that he would be choosing among the Ducks, LSU, Miami, Nebraska and Florida. The Ducks offered Jackson in January.
