NORMAN — Oklahoma football added some defensive line depth through the transfer portal on Monday.

The Sooners landed a commitment from Georgia State defensive tackle Bishop Thomas, according to multiple reports. Thomas visited OU this past weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 290-pound New Orleans native played one season at Florida State, one season at Colorado and two seasons with the Panthers. He saw action in all 12 games for Georgia State in 2025, totaling 48 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Defensive tackle has been a major focus for Sooners general manager Jim Nagy’s front office after Gracen Halton and Damonic Williams ran out of eligibility and Markus Strong, who figured to be a key piece of the defense in 2026, transferred.

Thomas joins UTSA transfer Kenny Ozowalu as defensive linemen to commit to OU out of the transfer portal. Earlier Monday, defensive end PJ Adebawore entered the portal before withdrawing minutes later.
