The 2025 WNBA Draft has now passed and now the amp up to the regular season begins for all the teams.

Of course, the 2025 WNBA season tips off on Friday May 16 with a tripleheader that features a massive game between the Minnesota Lynx and Dallas Wings.

Dallas looks to bounce back after their abysmal season last year that saw them finish with a 9-31 record, which was the second worst in the league behind the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Wings lucked out in the draft lottery, securing the number one pick. They then used it to take UConn star guard Paige Bueckers first overall.

Bueckers had a great collegiate career that saw her help UConn win the National Championship in her senior season before being taken first overall by Dallas.

Last season, Bueckers averaged 19.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game while shooting 53.4% from the field and 41.9% from three-point range.

After being taken at the top of the 2025 WNBA Draft, Bueckers’ hometown of Hopkins, Minnesota made a major announcement to honor her.

“The City of Hopkins would like to honor her accomplishments and wish her the bet of luck at the professional level by proclaiming May 16th as Paige Bueckers Day and renaming the city to Paige Bueckers, Minnesota for the day,” the City of Hopkins posted on X.
