Paige Bueckers isn’t letting her final time at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion go without a bang.
The 6-foot senior guard’s hot shooting ended No. 2 UConn’s slow start against No. 10 South Dakota State in the second round of the women’s NCAA Tournament. The Huskies were down by as many as six points in the first quarter before Bueckers posted 10 points on 4-for-4 shooting.
Bueckers ended the first half with 21 points, the most she’s scored in a first half and was 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. UConn took a 43-28 lead into the locker room at the half.
The Huskies expanded their lead to 72-36 through three quarters, while Bueckers is shooting a blistering 65% from the field.
