The Kentucky Wesleyan College men’s basketball team will look to sweep the season series against conference foe Malone when the Panthers host the Pioneers on Saturday at the Sportscenter.
Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
KWC (13-4, 7-2 G-MAC), seeking its fourth consecutive victory, defeated Malone 68-66 on Dec. 16 on the road behind the efforts on Eddy Jones Jr’s game-winning tip-in at the buzzer. The Panthers have set new season-high shooting marks in each of the last three games and will look to continue the trend.
Wesleyan, third in the conference standings, is averaging 78.6 points per game (third in G-MAC) while shooting 48.6% from the field (fourth) and 38% from 3-point range (second). Over their last three games, the Panthers are shooting a blistering 55.6% from the floor.
KWC is paced by 6-foot-2 junior guard Quentin Toles (13.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg), 6-1 fifth-year point guard Kennedy Miles (13.3 ppg, 4.8 apg), 6-5 senior forward Jones (12.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg), 6-5 junior wing Logan McIntire (12.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg) and others.
Malone () enters after winning its last two outings, including a 67-62 victory over Walsh on Thursday. The Pioneers, posting 71.5 points per game while shooting 44% from the floor and 32.5% from beyond the arc, are led by 5-10 graduate guard Simon Blair (14.4 ppg), 6-7 senior forward Ryan Bartley (13.2 ppg), 6-1 graduate guard Tre Baumgardner III (12.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg) and 6-7 redshirt junior forward Caleb Conard (10.7 ppg, 6.8 rpg).
The men’s game will follow the Kentucky Wesleyan women (9-6, 5-5 G-MAC) taking on Malone (15-2, 9-0) at 12:45 p.m.
