On Thursday during their tilt against the Edmonton Oilers, the Pittsburgh Penguins‘ NHL Quarter Century Team was revealed.
The NHL is gradually releasing each organization’s “Quarter-Century Team,” which highlights the best first- and second-team forwards, defensemen, and goaltenders from the 21st century. The teams were chosen by broadcasters, media, and writers, both nationally and locally, who have covered the teams.
The Penguins’ first team consists of:
Forwards
Sidney Crosby
Evgeni Malkin
Jake Guentzel
Defensemen
Kris Letang
Sergei Gonchar
Goaltender
Marc-Andre Fleury
The Penguins’ second team consists of:
Forwards
Mario Lemieux
Phil Kessel
Chris Kunitz
Defensemen
Brian Dumoulin
Brooks Oprik
Goaltender

The NHL All Quarter-Century team – which will include the best of the entire league from the last 25 years – will be chosen by fans in February. You can track each Quarter-Century team with THN’s Quarter-Century Team tracker.
