After reloading its roster with transfer portal additions from Iowa State, Penn State has finally added a player from another school. Former UCLA defensive lineman Keanu Williams has committed to the Nittany Lions out of the transfer portal. Williams announced his commitment out of the portal wiht a post on his social media account on Monday evening.
Williams is a former four-star recruit out of high school. The California native started his college football career in Oregon’s Class of 2021 and transferred to UCLA in 2023. Williams was a regular starter for UCLA last season after missing the 2024 season with an injury. He will have one final season of eligibility upon his arrival in Happy Valley.

Williams will see a couple of familiar faces in the program on the coaching staff. New defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn was Williams’ defensive coordinator at UCLA in 2023, and Penn State has hired UCLA’s previous defensive cooridnator, Ikaia Malloe, to be the team’s new defensive line coach.
Penn State has now added a total of 20 players from the transfer portal, 19 of which have come from Iowa State following the hiring of Matt Campbell. The transfer window remains open through Jan. 16.
