Penn State and head coach Matt Campbell received another recruiting gift as Santa was preparing to make his rounds this week. On Christmas Eve, Penn State received a commitment from Class of 2026 linebacker Keian Kaiser from Sidney, Nebraska. Kaiser is yet another player who had committed to and signed wiht Iowa State when Campbell was the head coach of the Cyclones.

Kaiser is rated as a three-star recruit according to 247Sports. The 6′-3″, 200-pound linebacker from Nebraska previously committed to Campbell at Iowa State back in March of this year and signed with the Cyclones during the early signing period. After Campbell was hired by Penn State, however, Kaiser backed out of his commitment to the Cyclones and made the decision to flip his commitment to Campbell and the Nittany Lions.

Following his decommitment from Iowa State, Minnesota reportedly extended a scholarship to Kaiser as well. Despite the interest from Minnesota, it was fully expected Kaiser would be joining the Penn State Class of 2026 to follow Campbell to Happy Valley.

Since being hired away from Iowa State, Campbell has successfully flipped seven players from the Cyclones to Penn State. All seven of those players had signed wiht Iowa State during the early signing period at the beginning of December.

Other players to flip from Iowa State to Penn State following the hiring of Campbell are safeties Tyrell Chatman and Bryson Williams, offensive tackles Mason Bandhauer and Pete Eglitis, quarterback Kase Evans, and punter Lucas Tenbrock. Penn State did sign two players during the early signing period prior to the hiring of Campbell, with edge Jackson Ford and quarterback Peyton Falzone.
