Penn State football | Nittany Lions land commitment from Syracuse wide receiver Trevor Pena

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Penn State football landed a commitment from former Syracuse wide receiver Trebor Pena over the weekend.

Pena has one year of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot, 184-pound wideout from New Jersey is coming off his best season in 2024. The redshirt senior caught 84 passes for 941 yards and nine touchdowns and was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference second team. He led the ACC in catches. He added 12 rushes for 72 yards and a score. Pena returned 15 punts for 120 yards.

In 2024, he posted 10 catches for 101 yards against Stanford. Pena added six grabs for 128 yards and a touchdown against Miami. He caught four touchdown passes in the first two games. Pena grabbed two more scores in the Holiday Bowl victory over Washington State.

Pena was limited to one game in 2023 before being injured and missing the rest of the season. He added 22 catches for 203 yards in 2022.

In 2020, he returned seven kickoffs for 225 yards, including a touchdown.

Pena, 23, started 14 of 41 games and has 109 career catches for 1,212 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also has 15 carries for 97 yards and a score. Pena has 36 kick returns for 972 yards and a touchdown, and 55 punt returns for 442 yards. He enters the 2025 season ranked fourth among active Football Bowl Subdivision players in career kick return average (27.0).

Pena joins portal additions Kyron Hudson (Southern California) and Devonte Ross (Troy) at wide receiver. Hudson, at 6-foot-1 and 212 pounds, hauled in 38 catches for 462 yards and three touchdowns in 2024. Over four seasons, he totaled 72 grabs for 807 yards and eight scores.

The 5-10, 170-pound Ross compiled 76 catches for 1,043 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2024. He supplied 129 receptions for 1,618 yards and 14 scores over three seasons.
