Penn State football podcast on Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky and more

by

Penn State wrestling is gaining steam toward capturing its 13th national title in the past 15 years.

Penn State football?

All eyes are now on new head coach Matt Campbell this offseason and his former Iowa State assistant coaches and ISU transfers.

And on one prime Penn State holdover ― longtime assistant and former interim head coach Terry Smith.

Was Smith, and his proud “409 button-wearing” vs. Nebraska the last, great hope to get Joe Paterno recognized again in Beaver Stadium?

So we welcome documentary filmmaker John Ziegler to the podcast to talk Smith, Paterno and, of course, Jerry Sandusky.

In this episode, the guys also discuss Penn State wrestling, Cael Sanderson and the mega matchup vs. Ohio State. Join York Daily Record beat reporter Frank Bodani and former TV anchor Andrew Kalista.

Ziegler riffs enthusiastically about the ongoing public narrative surrounding Paterno and, in a different light, Sandusky, 15 years after the scandal erupted at Penn State.

Ziegler, agree with him or not, has followed the situation and its aftermath closely and with fervor since its beginning.

Of course, we’ll also talk football with a month to go before spring practice. And PSU’s supreme wrestling program. The top sports dynasty going in America. Maybe ever?

That’s for another discussion.
