Don’t look now, but women’s college basketball player Chloe Spreen is on the fast track to becoming a fan favorite.
Spreen was named Indiana Ms. Basketball in 2024 before taking her talents to Alabama. She scored 1,869 points and was a four-time selection for the All-Hoosier Hills Conference team. ESPN’s recruiting rankings had her as the No. 46 overall player in her class.

After appearing in 20 games as a freshman at Alabama, she transferred to Indiana for her sophomore season. However, she only averaged 4.7 minutes per game for the Hoosiers.
Earlier this week, Spreen announced that she’s transferring to Illinois State for the 2026-27 season. Illinois State shared this exciting news on social media along with this message: “New addition in Normal.”
This photo of Spreen has managed to rack up 1.1 million views and over 7,000 likes on the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Always been a huge Redbird fan,” a social media user replied.
“For no reason at all, Illinois State Women’s Basketball will have the highest attendance they have ever had,” a fan wrote. “Book it.”
“I am now a huge fan of illi state women’s hoops,” another person commented.
Chloe Spreen is already a social media sensation.
Even though Spreen hasn’t enjoyed a breakout season at the collegiate level just yet, she already has over 92,000 Instagram followers.

When Spreen isn’t working on her game, she’s making “get ready with me” content and collaborating with brands, such as CVS and State Farm.
If Spreen has a successful 2026-27 season at Illinois State, that’ll only boost her brand on social media.
