by

Host Murray State overcame a career-best performance by Indiana State’s Clemisha Prackett and clinched no worse than a tie for the Missouri Valley Conference championship with a 115-67 win over the Sycamores on Thursday night.

Prackett had 21 points and 18 rebounds, both numbers career best, while Da’Naria Washington and Tierney Kelsey eached scored 16 for Indiana State. The Racers, however, had five players in double figures including former Sycamore Keslyn Secrist, who scored 20 on 9-for-12 shooting.

The Sycamores trailed 27-18 after a quarter, and it took a late second-quarter run to lift the host team into a 17-point halftime lead. Then things got worse for ISU.

Murray State hit 16 of 20 shots in the third quarter, building an 87-43 lead, then scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter to lead by 52.

Indiana State (9-19 overall, 5-13 MVC) plays Saturday night at Belmont. Murray State (25-3, 16-1) hosts Evansville that night.
