The stage is set for the final leg of the Indoor Archery World Series in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, where the world’s best archers – including previous champions from the 250-, 500- and 1000-point tournaments this season – will compete.
Regarded as the most prestigious indoor title of all, the Vegas Shoot is the seventh leg of the circuit, unlike previous years when it hosted the sixth leg followed by the Indoor Archery World Series Finals.
In 2026, the circuit will no longer conclude with a Finals; instead, final standings across the circuit will determine the champions, following World Archery’s decision to expand and reshape the indoor season.
Points towards the elite and open rankings have been accrued since last October at tournaments in Lausanne, Luxembourg, Taipei, Rio, Nimes, Merida and Vegas.
Reigning circuit champions Brady Ellison, Casey Kaufhold and Nico Wiener, along with world number ones Mathias Fullerton, Andrea Beccera and Marcus D’Almeida, lead a star-studded field.
In the absence of Andres Temiño Mediel, the race at the top of the recurve men’s field is expected to centre on D’Almeida, Nicholas D’Amour and Matias Grande, winner in Merida.
Teenager Angela Ruiz, who won her first Indoor Archery World Series title in Merida, will once again be in focus. Nimes and Taipei champion Victoria Sebastian, leader in the elite rankings, is another to watch in the recurve women’s event.
Fullerton will be among the favourites in the compound men’s line-up, which also includes Mike Schloesser – who has competed in all six stages this season, winning two – Denmark’s Stephan Hansen and Great Britain’s Ajay Scott.
Becerra, the Gwangju 2025 Hyundai World Archery Championships gold medallist, faces strong competition from fourth-ranked Alejandra Usquiano, the current elite rankings leader with two gold medals this season, and former world number one Ella Gibson.
India will also field some of its top athletes, including leading compound archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Abhishek Verma, and the experienced pair Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das.
