After losing Jase Richardson to the NBA Draft, and Tre Holloman’s departure via the transfer portal, the Spartans were in need of a starting shooting guard that they were set to acquire via the transfer portal. Well, MSU head coach Tom Izzo did just that, landing Samford shooting guard transfer Trey Fort, tabbing the senior to be the next starting two-guard in East Lansing.
Fort has brought in some mixed reviews from those in the fan base and around the media, with some people believing he is a perfect fit in East Lansing, while others claim that the Spartans reached.

The latest analyst to interject in the discussion is one that is familiar to the Michigan State fanbase. Ant Wright, a former player at Michigan and current Big Ten analyst, posted a one-minute breakdown video of the Spartans latest addition.
Wright shared that Fort has a lethal jump shot, and plus athleticism, giving him a player comparison to Gabe Brown. Watch the full breakdown via X:
