Apr. 9—CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The honors keep pouring in for the Rochester Community and Technical College women’s basketball team.
On Wednesday, it was announced sophomores Kara Goetzinger and Macaya Copeland were selected as two of five NJCAA Division III first-team All-Americans.

All-America selections are made by the NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Committee.
Goetzinger — a Chatfield High School graduate — and Copeland (Minnetonka) each played crucial roles in helping RCTC to its second national championship in three years.
Goetzinger was named the tournament’s MVP, averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds and just over a block across the three games. The 5-foot-10 forward finished the year scoring 14.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 50.2% from the floor.
Copeland, meanwhile, improved her scoring output from 16.3 ppg. as a freshman to a team-best 17.6 this year, while shooting 44.2%. She also averaged 3.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game.
