Real Madrid edged past Barcelona in the first El Clásico of the season as goals from Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham helped them to a 2-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mbappé opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when he was set through on goal by a delightful through ball from Bellingham.
Barça levelled the scores through Fermín López, but Bellingham starred again later in the first half with a poacher’s finish.
Hansi Flick’s side were reduced to 10-men deep into stoppage-time when Pedri was shown a second yellow card for a mistimed tackle.
The result means Madrid extend their lead at the top of LaLiga to five points.
