by

2027 four-star recruit Dooney Johnson will be on his official visit for tonight’s game against Western Oregon.

The 6-5 and 185-pound guard hails from Milwaukee Juneau in Wisconsin, out of the 2027 recruiting class. He averaged 25.3 points per game on a 52 percent from the field, 49 percent on three-pointers, and 79 percent from the free throw line in his freshman season. He also contributed 9.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Gonzaga assistant coach Zach Norvell was on-site with the versatile prospect in Milwaukee in early September, along with Wake Forest and Marquette (Wisconsin and Indiana are also in the hunt). Representing Team Herro on the Nike EYBL circuit, the four-star ranks as the No. 17 overall prospect. No. 3 point guard in 2027, and No. 1 prospect coming out of the state of Wisconsin(per Rivals).

Johnson is the cream of the crop of the 2027 names that the Zags are investing their time in, due to his ability to compete at and guard multiple positions. His primary recruiter has been assistant coach Brian Michaelson.

Gonzaga has already received commits from the two 2026 recruits that visited the Kennel this season: four-star center Sam Funches and four-star wing Luca Foster.
