Happy Super Bowl Sunday Husky fans. With the 2026 class in the rear view mirror the Husky coaches are laser focused on getting the team ready for the 2026 season but they are also putting in a lot of leg work to get the 2027 class put together. Recently a couple of Husky targets narrowed their recruitment down and the Huskies made the cut:
3 star offensive lineman Reis Russell from Valor Christian HS, CO narrowed his recruitment to 6 schools which included: Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Miami, SMU, and UW. The Huskies have been after Russell for a long time and have been one of the favorites for him. Rated as the 43rd best interior offensive lineman in the country, Russell projects as a guard or center in college and with his 6’3” and 290 frame he should be ready to contribute early. The Huskies will likely get an official visit from Reis and I suspect they will be in it until the very end (right now I would still project him to commit to UW). Oregon, Georgia, and Miami recently offered and he is considering his options, but UW has been after him longer than any of the schools in his top 6 list.

3 star offensive lineman Dajohn Yarborough from Basha HS, AZ whittled his recruitment down to 10 schools. The Huskies made the cut, and are joined by Alabama, ASU, Cal, FSU, Kansas State, Minnesota, UCF, UCLA, and Wisconsin. Yarborough, who is rated as the 25th best interior offensive lineman in the country, is also a massive target for UW. Listed at 6’5” and around 330 pounds Yarborough is a massive offensive lineman. The Huskies have been after him for a long time and are probably considered the favorite (the only official visit he has scheduled is to UW for the weekend of the 19th of June).
3 star offensive lineman Benjamin Lowther from Centennial HS, AZ is another top offensive line target that whittled down his list. The Huskies made the cut, which also included: AZ, ASU, Cal, Duke, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Stanford, and Texas A&M. Listed at 6’7” and around 320 pounds Lowther has an ideal frame for an offensive tackle in the Huskies offense. 247sports has Lowther rated as the 35th best offensive tackle in the country and the Huskies are one of the favorites to land the talented offensive lineman.
The Husky staff is planning on having some targets on campus for their Junior day on the weekend of March 7th and 8th. I suspect a lot of top targets will make their way to campus and once we get a better of idea of who will be on campus we will share that here. That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
