Report: Big Ten, Big 12 teams in mix for MSU transfer QB Aidan Chiles

by

A pair of teams have emerged as top contenders to land the commitment of former Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles.

On3 college football insider Pete Nakos reported this week that two teams — one from the Big Ten and one from th Big 12 — have emerged as teams to “watch” for Chiles. Those two teams are reportedly Nebraska and Cincinnati.

Chiles has not formally entered the transfer portal, but it was reported earlier this week that he plans to hit the portal when it opens on January 2. The news of Chiles’ intention to leave via the portal was not shocking considering the coaching change and the expectation of fellow starting quarterback Alessio Milivojevic returning for next year.

Chiles was a two-year starter for the Spartans, following former head coach Jonathan Smith from Oregon State to Michigan State after the 2023 season. He appeared in 21 games for the Spartans, throwing for for more than 3,800 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also ran for nearly 500 yards and nine touchdowns while playing for the Spartans.

It’ll be interesting to see where Chiles lands as I expected him to go to a program similar to Nebraska and Cincinnati. For those wondering, Michigan State is scheduled to host Nebraska next year so should he end up with the Cornhuskers, then he’ll be returning to East Lansing, Mich. next fall.
