Two rising UFC bantamweights are aligned for a three-round showdown.
Canada’s Serhiy Sidey and Texas’ Cameron Smotherman will collide at a UFC Fight Night event May 3. The location and venue have yet to be determined.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Sidey (11-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) looks to build off momentum of his first UFC win, which came in November by split decision vs. Garrett Armfield. It returned Sidey into the win column after a debut split decision loss to Ramon Taveras.
Smotherman (12-4 MMA, 1-0 UFC) rides a four-fight winning streak into the fight. He made his promotional debut on short notice in October when he upset Jake Hadley with a unanimous decision win.
With the addition, the UFC Fight Night lineup for May 3 includes:
-
Gillian Robertson vs. Marina Rodriguez
-
Jeong Yeong Lee vs. Trevor Peek
-
Serhiy Sidey vs. Cameron Smotherman
