Robert Whittaker has oddly become a staple of Middle East cards as of late.
Saturday’s UFC on ABC 9 will mark the third-straight fight Whittaker (26-8 MMA, 17-6 UFC) has taken in the region, as he’s split the previous appearances at 1-1. He’s set to headline the event at Etihad Arena vs. former ONE Championship titleholder Reinier de Ridder (20-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC).
Prior to his loss to Khamzat Chimaev in October, Whittaker crushed Ikram Aliskerkov in 109 seconds in June 2024. The victory was the second-quickest of his UFC tenure and was the headliner of the promotion’s first trip to Saudi Arabia.
