A key middleweight bout is headlining a UFC Fight Night event in August.
Promotionally ranked top 10 middleweights Roman Dolidze and Anthony Hernandez will headline a UFC Fight Night on Aug. 9 at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. MMA Junkie confirmed the booking with with two sources following a first report from X user @realkevink.
Dolidze (15-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) enters his third UFC main event while on a three-fight winning streak. After his last setback against Nassourdine Imavov, the Georgian won a unanimous decision over Anthony Smith, won by TKO against Kevin Holland, and most recently outpointed Marvin Vettori in a March main event to avenge a prior loss.
In the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie middleweight rankings, Dolidze holds the No. 11 spot with Hernandez (14-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) one spot ahead at No. 10.
“Fluffy” will become a UFC headliner for the second time. Currently riding a seven-fight winning streak, Hernandez has been steadily climbing the ladder, and is now knocking on the door of the division’s elite. In his first main event opportunity at UFC Fight Night 245, Hernandez ground and pounded Michel Pereira for a fifth-round stoppage. He followed that up with a unanimous decision over Brendan Allen in his first fight of 2025.
