Butler basketball has secured a commitment from 20-year-old Serbian forward Asim Djulovic from Mega Superbet in the Adriatic League sources confirmed to IndyStar.
Djulovic is first-year coach Ronald Nored‘s first commitment. Djulovic joins point guard Jalen Jackson and center Drayton Jones as players confirmed to be returning for the 2026-27 season.

Djulovic’s commitment represents a shift in recruiting for Butler. In Thad Matta’s last offseason as coach, Butler signed five high school freshmen and supplemented through the transfer portal. With Nored’s ties to the NBA and professional basketball, signing a foreign pro as his first recruit is a telling statement. Adding an experienced pro to a core of Jones and Jackson lifts Butler’s floor. Building through freshmen takes time.
Djulovic is a 6-foot-6 forward who is averaging 13.8 points and 4.7 rebounds in 28 minutes per game. Djulovic has experience with Serbia in FIBA tournaments as well, playing for the U16, U17 and U20 youth teams. He played one game with the Serbian senior team scoring five points with two rebounds in a win over Georgia during the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers.
Djulovic profiles as a confident shooter from deep with a quick left-handed jumper. He’s crafty when attacking the basket using spin moves to finish in traffic with either hand. He looks to post up smaller guards and does a good job finding the open man when extra defenders come.
