Roos Vanotterdijk & Lucas Henveaux Among Nine-Strong Belgian Squad Selected for European Championships
Nine swimmers have been selected to represent Belgian at the European Championships in Paris.
Roos Vanotterdijk, Florine Gaspard and Lucas Henveaux are among the team that will compete across 21 individual events in the French capital where the pool programme runs from 10-16 August.
The team will be led by Pieterjan Vangerven & Philippe Midrez, and coaches Mark Faber, André Henveaux, and Erwin Vanspauwen.
Vanotterdijk – who won a medal of each colour at the 2024 edition in Belgrade – will compete in the 50 and 100 free, butterfly and backstroke on top of the 200IM despite a difficult Belgian trials last weekend as she continues her recovery from injury.
Gaspard – who twice lowered her national 50m breaststroke record in Antwerp last weekend – takes on the 50 and 100 free and breaststroke.
Henveaux will contest the 200, 400 and 800 free where he’ll face the likes of David Popovici, Matt Richards, Lukas Märtens, Johannes Liebmann and former training partner Daniel Wiffen.
