Rutgers Football has made another addition in the transfer portal, this time signing former Washington Long Snapper Caleb Johnston. He comes to Rutgers with two years of eligibility remaining,

Johnston is listed as 5-foot-11, 221 pounds. He hails from Ripon, California, and played at Rip High School before enrolling at Washington in the class of 2022.

During his first season in college in 2022, Johnston did not see the field and would redshirt. 2023 was more of the same as he was listed as a backup long snapper on Washington’s roster.

He was listed as the Huskies’ backup for the 2024 season however, he took over starting duties for PATs and Field Goals in the fourth game of the season and would remain the starter on those units for the rest of the year.

Johnston originally entered the transfer portal in December, landing at CAL-Berkeley and spending the winter with the Golden Bears. However, he decided to enter the portal once more in April and signed with Rutgers shortly after.
