Sarah Hubbard breaks barebow world record with 648

by

The GBR international Sarah Hubbard has broken the barebow women’s qualification round world record, shooting 648 out of a maximum 720 at the Archery GB National Tour Stage 2 competition at Meriden Archery Club, Coventry, UK.

The new mark is subject to ratification.

The score beats by a single point the previous record of 647 set by Giulia Mantilli in Terni, Italy in June 2025.

“I’m super thrilled, it was a really great day,” said Hubbard, who went on to win the competition.

“I came into this weekend knowing that my qualification rounds have been much stronger this year, but I didnt kind of come in thinking, ‘oh, I’m going to go for this’. It just kind of happened.”

“It was nerve-wracking of course, when you know that youre on for it. You’ve just kind of got to stay as calm as you can, as much as you can. But it’s conquering those nerves that I think makes the difference.”

It is the second outdoor world record broken this year, after Jimmy Lutz broke the compound men’s world record in Florida in April.
